The Zody II is Haworth's next generation of its most research-backed ergonomic chair — updated for the way people work now.

The most significant evolution: dual posture design. The Zody II supports both conventional seated posture and the in-between "perch" position of sit-to-stand work — the stance you adopt when the desk is raised but sitting fully feels wrong. Most chairs are built for one posture. The Zody II is designed for both, with an expanded seat height range and 6 back-stop positions (up from 4 in the original Zody) that give the chair the flexibility to support either posture properly.

The PAL™ (Pelvic and Asymmetric Lumbar) system carries over from the original Zody: independently adjustable lumbar support for the left and right sides of the back, addressing the asymmetric reality of how spines actually work. Added to this: a dimensionally more accommodating seat and enhanced 4D arm range, supporting a broader range of body types effectively.

Indoor Advantage Gold certified. 30% recycled content, 99% recyclable. Available in India via Haworth's India webshop.

Details

Zody is built to support the way you work — whether you're fully seated or in a perched position at a height-adjustable desk. At the core of its ergonomic innovation is a 3-point synchronous tilt system that aligns with the body's natural pivot points — hip, knee, and ankle — to deliver a smooth, effortless recline. This means minimal effort to lean back, consistent lumbar support, and a perfectly balanced feel, no matter your shape or size.

Zody was the first chair to offer asymmetrical lumbar support for personalized comfort, and the first to achieve Cradle to Cradle® certification for sustainability. Every detail is fine-tuned for comfort and precision. Its Pelvic and Asymmetrical Lumbar system provides customized support, encouraging a natural sitting posture. The suspension mesh gives you targeted support with three distinct zones, calibrated for ergonomic balance and all-day comfort. Torsional flex allows the backrest to respond dynamically to shifts in position, reducing pressure points and increasing mobility.

Forward Tilt

Designed for sit-to-stand work, this option supports that in-between posture — part sitting, part standing — so you stay supported even when your desk is raised.

Seat Height

Zody’s system delivers targeted lower back support — stabilizing the pelvis while allowing independent adjustment on either side of the lumbar for a custom fit that aligns with your spine’s natural curves.

Tilt Tension Control

Tilt the seat forward by 5° to support upright, task-focused posture — ideal for moments of deep concentration or close-up work.

4D Arms

Easily adjust the seat to match your height. For optimal support, your knees should form a 90° angle with your feet flat on the floor.

Designed for all the ways you work.

Trailblazing Sustainability

Zody doesn’t just meet sustainability standards — it helps set them. It’s the first chair to earn Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze under the newest qualifications and also meets the highest environmental criteria from BIFMA, the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association.

GREENGUARD Gold® Certified

Zody is certified to meet the most rigorous standard for low chemical emissions — tested to be free of over 10,000 VOCs (volatile organic compounds) that can affect indoor air quality. The result? A chair that helps create a cleaner, healthier workspace.

Environmental Integrity

Zody is made with more than 90% recyclable materials — and it’s designed for easy disassembly, making end-of-life recycling simple. We never use PVC, heavy metals, or flame retardants in our chairs, so you can feel good about what you’re sitting on.

Sustainable Comfort

Opt for Zody in Hobson fabric and help reduce ocean waste. Made from 80% ocean-bound plastic and recycled polyester, this exclusive textile is soft, durable, and modern. Each yard diverts 33 plastic bottles from entering the ocean — proof that comfort can do good.
